Thoughtful estate planning is a valuable contribution to family and friends. While the law provides for an orderly distribution of assets in the event of a passing without a will, it places a burden on those left behind. Johnson Law Group has focused much effort on the enforcement of federal and state rights to free and appropriate public education services for children with special needs. In many cases, we work to connect families with exceptionally qualified educational and related service providers and represent families in due process proceedings under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The firm was instrumental in filing the landmark special education case, Petties et al. v. District of Columbia, et al. in 1995, and has served as counsel to the plaintiff class for most of that time.
